Ian Green, President
Married with two adult daughters, Ian has lived in the Latrobe Valley all of his life. Ian has worked in operations, maintenance management, asset management, occupational health and safety and human resource roles in the energy, power and bulk materials handling industries. He currently works in a business development and compliance role with a local operations and maintenance company providing services to industry. Ian has been involved with Interchange Gippsland since 1995 through his youngest daughter who has a mild intellectual disability.
Helen Johnson, Vice President
Helen is married with two adult sons. Her youngest son has a profound disability. Helen has had decades of experience working in the disability sector. She currently works part time for the Association for Children with a Disability (ACD) as a Parent Support Worker and is currently a Facilitator with ACD Connect doing ACD Peer Support workshops ‘Getting NDIS Ready’. Helen also works part time as a Personal Banker. She has significant experience in systemic, community and individual advocacy at a local, state and national level. Helen is on the Board of Carers Victoria and had a six year term on the board of Carers Australia. She is now a Principal Ambassador for Carers Australia. Helen is passionate about seeing Interchange Gippsland continue to expand and providing creative social opportunities and community based, inclusive opportunities for individuals with a disability and their families.
Craig Milligan, Treasurer
Craig lives locally and is married with two boys. He has been on the Interchange Gippsland Board since 2010 and currently holds the role of Treasurer. Craig believes that Interchange Gippsland performs exceptional work and states that he is proud to be involved in the organisation. He has worked as an Accountant (CPA) for over 25 years for various organisations and is currently employed in the power industry. Craig’s interests include gardening, fishing and travelling.
Michelle Blackburn, Secretary
Living in Gippsland with her husband and two primary school age boys, Michelle has been a solicitor for over 15 years, practicing in environmental and planning law. Michelle joined the Board of Interchange in mid 2010 in response to a call for new board members. Michelle believes being on the Interchange Gippsland board has been a privilege and looks forward to working to ensure continued delivery of an expanding range of high quality, innovative and community inclusive services for the Gippsland community.
Sue Taylor, Family Liaison Officer
Sue has three adult children, the eldest is now in her 30’s and has an intellectual disability. Sue has been involved with Interchange Gippsland for approximately 16 years and greatly values and appreciates the service Interchange Gippsland provides people with disabilities. In Sue’s words she “will forever be grateful for the support Interchange Gippsland gave and continue to give to her and her family”. After a 25 year teaching career Sue decided it was time for change, and completed post graduate studies in counselling and she now works as a Gambler’s Help Counselor.
Gaylene joined the Interchange Gippsland Board of Management in 2015. She lives in Moe with her husband and her eldest daughter who has an intellectual disability and a severe bilateral hearing loss, while her youngest daughter lives interstate. She has worked in the healthcare sector for 18 years and enjoys the customer service aspect of her employment. Gaylene has been involved with Interchange Gippsland as a parent for many years, with her daughter accessing Interchange Gippsland services since 2005. She states that Interchange Gippsland provides such an excellent and valuable service to people with a disability and their families and her aim is to provide support to the board and management.
Jenny Fox is a senior Case Manager providing assistance to families that have difficulty in parenting. Jenny has an Associate Diploma in Arts (Welfare Studies) through Monash Gippsland. She commenced her involvement with Interchange Gippsland in 2002 on the Host program, and was a Host volunteer for over two years. Jenny became a member of the Board in 2004 where she took on the role of Secretary, prior to becoming President in 2010. Jenny lives in Traralgon with her husband and her interests include her involvement with Traralgon Baptist Church and trying to keep fit by going to the gym. Jenny also enjoy creating garden items from metal and having regular breaks in her caravan.
Peter is married with two adults daughters and a young grandson. His youngest daughter has autism with a intellectual disability. Peter has worked in the power industry in the Latrobe Valley for over 38 years in many aspects of the business and is currently a Shift Operations Manager. Peter’s interests include autism and the disability sector as a whole spending time with his family. Peter enjoys motorbike riding (trail and road), occupational health and safety, camping and the Australian way of life. Peter has been with Interchange Gippsland for many years as a client and serving on the Board of Management as President, Vice President and general board member.
